Huntingdon, Pa. - Juniata College tennis player Neil Eicher (Altoona/Altoona) was selected to the Commonwealth Conference All-Conference tennis team as picked by the school's head coaches. Eicher was one of six athletes chosen as a first-team All-Conference performer.

In just his second season at Juniata, Eicher boasted a 4-5 overall singles record on the season, and was 4-4 in Juniata doubles matches. His four singles wins were the most on the team, and he was tied for the team lead with four doubles victories. Eicher competed at the MAC Individual Singles Championships this past weekend, losing his first-round match 6-3, 3-6, 3-6.

Three of Eicher's four singles victories came in conference matches this season. Playing at the number one singles position he posted straight-set wins over both Messiah and Widener. Against Lebanon Valley, Eicher dropped the first set 3-6, but then rallied to claim 6-4, 6-3 victories in the final two sets. His other victory also came in three sets against Penn State-Altoona.

For his career, Eicher has a 9-12 singles record in his first two seasons. He has played at the number one singles spot since arriving on the Juniata campus. His career doubles record stands at 10-10. He was selected as the conference rookie of the year as a freshman and garnered second-team All-Conference honors.
Juniata finished the season with a 2-6 record overall, and a 2-5 mark in the conference. Juniata won its first two matches of the season.
