The members of New York Voices are Kim Nazarian, Lauren Kinhan, Peter Eldridge and Darmon Meader.

The group was formed in 1987 and has collaborated on recordings by such musicians as guitarist Jim Hall, vocalist Nancy Wilson and Brazilian keyboard player Ivan Lins.

The group uses tightly orchestrated vocal arrangements as well as scat singing and vocalese, a style of jazz singing in which the vocal group improvises lyrics to instrumental jazz pieces. The group lists their musical influences as Manhattan Transfer, Take 6 and the '50s jazz vocalists Lambert, Hendricks and Ross.

The group signed a record deal with GRP Records in 1989 and released the album "New York Voices."

Subsequently, the group has released three more albums on GRP, "Hearts of Fire," "What's Inside" and "Collection." The group also performed on the Grammy-winning album "Count Basie Orchestra with New York Voices: Live at the Manchester Craftsmen's Guild." In 1997, the group signed with RCA Records, releasing "New York Voices Sing the Songs of Paul Simon."

The group's latest album is "Sing, Sing, Sing," released in 2001.
