Huntingdon, Pa. – On Friday, Oct. 20, 2017, Juniata College will host a shredding event for local community members and members of the College’s campus community. Attendees can bring documents to be shredded between the hours of 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. at the Beeghly Library parking lot, which is located at the corner of 19th and Moore streets. The event is free and open to the public.

To take advantage of this opportunity, individuals need only arrive with their documents. The parking lot, which serves as a drop off zone, will be configured as a convenient drive-thru. Members of Juniata’s campus technology staff will be on hand to assist with the process.

“Campus Technology Services provides this opportunity to the community as part of our month-long activities around National Cyber Security Awareness Month,” says Brenda Roll, technology department coordinator at Juniata. “Our outreach is aimed at creating awareness about the importance of data privacy and protecting personal information. Secure document destruction of personal, confidential materials is an important part of data privacy.”
