HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- The Juniata College theatre department will present two original works incorporating music and movement written and performed by current Juniata students at 7:30 p.m. April 14-16 in Rosenberger Auditorium in Oller Hall on the Juniata campus.

The production is free and open to the public.

The festival will showcase plays by Juniata students Marcela Diaz Castro, a senior from del Marmol, Mexico, and Taro Shibuya, an international student from Tokyo, Japan.

Diaz Castro, who is studying contemporary dance and theatre at Juniata, will perform the work "Significant Movement in Dance." Inspired by the poems of Pablo Neruda and Gabriela Mistral, the work celebrates all aspects of the human voice.

The piece uses original music composed by Muhammad Jami, a freshman from Little Meadows, Pa.

Taro Shibuya will stage "The Meet," a production incorporating clowning and movement. The piece is co-directed by Jennifer John, a sophomore from East Hanzey, N.H., and Emily Eller, a freshman from Manchester, Maine. Shibuya and John will perform the piece.
