HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- Juniata College field hockey hung-on to their spot while women's volleyball dropped one slot in their respective national coaches polls released Tuesday.

Women's volleyball (19-6) are now ranked 12th in the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division III Top 25 coaches poll, after falling to California, Pa. 2-3 on Tuesday, Oct. 11 and despite winning 3-0 over PS-Altoona, Merchant Marine and Goucher College. The top slot is still home to Calvin who earned 24 first-place votes. Emory jumped to No. 2 to bump Washington-St. Louis to No. 3. Slots 4-10 didn't not see any movement this week with Wittenberg, Eastern, Heidelberg, Southwestern (Texas), Christopher Newport, Concordia (Minn.) and Carthage rounding out the top ten.

Juniata hosts its annual Wid Guisler Invitational this weekend and plays Indiana, Pa. Friday evening on 7:00 p.m., followed by a 3:00 p.m. Saturday match against Carnegie-Mellon.

Field hockey (9-3) was able to hang on to its previous No. 20 ranking in this week's National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division III Top 20 coaches poll, despite its Landmark Conference 4-1 loss to #12 Catholic University on Saturday, Oct. 15.

Juniata travels to Elizabethtown College on Thursday, Oct. 20 to makeup a previously postponed contest. The game is scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m. The Eagles return to Landmark play on Saturday, Oct. 22 at Drew University.
