HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- Juniata College women's soccer yielded one goal early in Saturday's clash with Saint Vincent College, but that single marker held up as the Eagles fell to Saint Vincent, 1-0, at Winton Hill Field.

Saint Vincent's Tenesha Corrales took a pass from Elyse Togliatti on the right sideline, beat a Juniata defender with a stagger-step move, and put a shot into the upper-left quarter of the Juniata goal past Eagle keeper Gabriella Ricciardi (Massapequa, N.Y./Massapequa).

Juniata's best chance to respond came in the 28th minute, after a long sideline run by Paula Pryor (Westbrookville, N.Y./Burke Catholic). Pryor raced past no fewer than two Saint Vincent defenders and was down to within 10 yards of the endline, when she served a ball right to Aimee Radic (Belle Vernon, Pa./Belle Vernon Area) on the far side of the Bearcats' six-yard box. However Radic was unable to finish the play, and Saint Vincent keeper Kirstie Mills smothered the ball for the save.

After getting outshot by the Bearcats 9-6 in the opening half, the Eagles had much more success applying offensive pressure in the second stanza â?" but were unable to get past Mills.

Juniata had three shots and three corner kicks over the final 15 minutes of play, but only one of those attempts was on goal â?" a shot by Jenna Rodrigue (Manchester, Conn./Manchester) in the 81st minute.

Ricciardi finished the day with four saves for the Eagles, while Mills tallied seven saves in the Saint Vincent goal. The two teams were deadlocked with 12 shots each, with Juniata finishing with an 8-5 advantage in corner kicks.

Juniata is on the road this Thursday, as it travels to New Wilmington, Pa., to face Westminster College. Game time is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
