HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- The Juniata College field hockey and women's volleyball teams kept a spot in their respective national coaches polls, but each slipped two notches down the updated rankings which were unveiled Tuesday.

Juniata women's volleyball (6-4) checked in at No. 11 in this week's American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Coaches Top 25 poll, down from the ninth spot they held a week ago. The Eagles dropped a pair of matches to ranked opponents last week, and posted a win over No. 12 Colorado College, 3-1.

The top six in the AVCA poll remained unchanged: Calvin, Washington-St. Louis, Wittenberg, Emory, Eastern, and Christopher Newport. Carthage moved into the number seven position, followed by Heidelberg, Southwestern (Texas), and Concordia (Minn.).

Juniata faces St. Mary's College of Maryland, Haverford College, and Elizabethtown College at the Days Inn Blue Jay Classic this Friday and Saturday, Sept. 23-24, in Elizabethtown, Pa.

The Eagle field hockey squad (4-2) held onto a spot in the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Top 20, hanging in at No. 19 in this week's poll.

The Eagles dropped a 2-0 contest to then-No. 1 Messiah College last week, and the Falcons fell to No. 3 in this week's rankings. Juniata is one of two Landmark Conference schools in the NFHCA poll; Catholic University is ranked 14th this week, down from 11th a week ago.

Juniata field hockey faces Wesley College on Tuesday night, before battling No. 10 The College of New Jersey on Friday, Sept. 23, in Ewing, N.J.
