HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- Juniata College women's soccer brought the heat in the second half for a 2-1 victory over King's College at Winton Hill Field on Saturday.

Juniata (3-2-1) outshot King's (1-3-0) 20-4 in the contest and charted eight corner kicks to the Monarchs' three, with the Eagles logging 12 shots in the second half. The Eagles controlled much of the match and really kicked it into high gear coming into the second 45 minutes of play.

Freshman forward Taylor Whetsel (Indiana, Pa./Indiana Area) finally got Juniata on the board by lofting the ball over the Monarchs' goalie in the 54th minute.

The Eagles sealed the deal in the 88th minute when sophomore midfielder Alicia Snyder (Jonestown, Pa./Northern Lebanon) accepted the ball from an Aimee Radic (Belle Vernon, Pa./Belle Vernon Area) cross and drove it home for the winning goal.

King's lone unassisted mark came from senior midfielder Brianne Schmidt in the 21st minute.

Eagles' goalkeeper Gabriella Ricciardi (Massapequa, N.Y./Massapequa) earned the win and registered a single save in the contest.

The Eagles will travel to Penn State Altoona on Tuesday, Sept. 20, for an 8:00 p.m. night game.
