HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- Juniata men's soccer endured a 1-0 overtime heartbreak loss to King's College, Saturday afternoon on Winton Hill Field.

The aggressive match between the Eagles and the Monarchs was nothing short of a tug-of-war battle between the two foes, highlighted by 25 total fouls called and five shots-on-goal recorded for each team.

However, King's (3-0-1) did eventually capitalize in overtime when a foul was called against Juniata in the goalie box, allowing the Monarchs to have a penalty kick opportunity just over nine minutes into overtime.

Senior forward Joey Bender was given the green light for the penalty kick and got it past Juniata goalie Ezra Cassel (Denver, Pa./Cocalico), marking the first goal allowed by Juniata (2-1-0) this season.

Six different Juniata players took shots during the match led by junior midfielder Greg Hess (Hanover, Pa./South Western) who collected a pair of on-goal shots.

Cassel collected four saves during the contest and turned away 14 Monarch shots in 99 minutes of play.

Juniata returns to the pitch on Wednesday, Sept. 21, for a 4:30 p.m. matchup at Lycoming College.
