HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- Former Juniata College football letterwinner Todd Quinter will rejoin the Eagle gridiron coaching staff for 2011, as one of several staff moves announced by Juniata head football coach Tim Launtz.

Quinter previously served as a running backs coach for the Eagles from 2001 to 2005, mentoring a rushing unit that set several single game and single season rushing records during that span. He was the position coach for Craig Moshier, whose 1,249 yards on 275 carries in 2003 both set new Juniata marks, including his single-game record 285 yards versus Albright during the 2003 campaign.

Quinter will coach the offensive line in his return to the Juniata sidelines.

A 2000 graduate of Juniata with a bachelor's degree in ecology, Quinter played four years on Knox Stadium. The Pottstown, Pa., native was a reserve performer on the offensive line for his first three season before moving to tight end for his senior year. He currently works as a science teacher at Huntingdon Area Middle School.

Launtz also announced that long-time assistant Tom Gibboney will serve as associate head coach in addition to his current duties as defensive coordinator, and Will Lawing has been promoted to offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach.

Gibboney recently completed his eighth season on the Juniata football staff, including a three-year stint as head coach from 1995 to 1997. He previously served as defensive coordinator at Huntingdon Area High School, helping guide the Bearcats to three district championships, and was Huntingdon's head coach from 1986 to 1994.

Lawing returns to the Juniata sidelines for his third season, after coaching wide receivers and coordinating the Eagle passing game in 2010. He also served as Juniata football's recruiting coordinator. A 2008 graduate of the University of North Carolina, Lawing came to Juniata after serving as a pre-season assistant at the University of South Carolina in 2008.

Additional Juniata football staff appointments will be announced later this summer.

Juniata opens its 2011 season on September 3, when the Eagles host Washington & Jefferson College at 1:00 p.m. on Knox Stadium.
