HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- A solid performance in the 3,000m run propeled Juniata College track and field freshman Katrina Woods (Shirleysburg, Pa./Mount Union) to Landmark Conference Women's Track Athlete of the Week honors, when the conference's weekly awards were announced Monday.

Woods finished 12th in a highly competitive field in the 3,000m at Saturday's Wake Forest Open in Winston-Salem, N.C., posting a time of 10:42.97.

That time is the second-fastest in that event either indoor or outdoor in the Landmark Conference this season.

The Landmark Track Athlete of the Week honor is the first weekly conference award for Woods, who also ran in the 800m run (54th, 2:27.25) at the Wake Forest Open.

Juniata track and field will travel to Selinsgrove, Pa., this Saturday to compete in the Susquehanna University Jim Taylor Invitational.
