WILKES, Pa. -- The Juniata College women's swimming team took a split out of its tri-meet Saturday afternoon at King's College, dropping a 57-37 decision to King's but posting a 49-45 win over Marywood University.

Juniata (1-2) won five events overall, starting with a victory in the 200 Medley Relay to open the day's competition. Falon Snyder (Walnutport, Pa./Allentown Central Catholic), Kathryn Viola (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks East), Kelsey Miles (Huntingdon, Pa./Huntingdon Area) and Evan Beatty (Hershey, Pa./Hershey) comprised the Eagles' team in the 200 Medley Relay, posting a time of 2:08.21.

Miles went on to capture individual first in two more events, winning the 200 Freestyle with a time of 2:07.10, then taking the 100 Freestyle with a mark of 58.58 seconds.

Snyder won the 100 Backstroke with a time of 1:05.80, nearly five seconds better than the second place finisher. Viola edged King's Patricia Manning to win the 100 Breaststroke with a time 1:12.79; Manning was less than a second off that pace with a time of 1:13.47.

Viola posted a second place finish in the 200 IM with a time of 2:24.54, while Snyder notched a second place finish in the 100 Butterfly with a mark of 1:05.70 - just over a second off the winning time of 1:04.41 turned in by Manning.

Juniata returns to the pool next Saturday, Nov. 6, when it travels to Pittsburgh to face Chatham University.
