Complete Juniata-Mansfield women's swimming results

HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- Women's swimming started off its season with a dual meet loss, 90-76, against Mansfield University inside the Binder Natatorium on Friday evening, yet displayed strong improvements compared to last years 78 point deficit against the Division II team.

Freshmen Falon Snyder (Walnutport, Pa./Allentown Central Catholic) and Kathryn Viola (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks East) were double winners in the meet.

Snyder won the 100 SC Meter Butterfly with a time of 1:14.08, and the 100 SC Meter Backstroke to beat Mansfield's Emily Staib by two seconds. Her wins gained her nine points in each event.

Viola swam the 200 SC meter IM to beat out Mansfield's Megan Smickly by four seconds, gaining her nine points. She also won the 100 SC Meter Breaststroke with a time of 1:21.66, also gaining her nine points.

Kelsey Miles (Huntingdon, Pa./Huntingdon Area) won her 100 SC Meter Freestyle with a time of 1:05.27 and a total of nine points.

Sophomore Evan Beatty (Hershey, Pa./Hershey) and Haldis Andersen (Mooresville, N.C./Mooresville) joined Miles, Snyder, and Viola to win the 400 SC Meter Freestyle Relay in 4:33.96.

Juniata's next meet will be held at King's College in Wilkes-Barre, Pa. at 1:00 pm. next Saturday, Oct. 30.
