Huntingdon, PA -- Juniata College sophomore Marie Lobaugh (Aspers/Biglerville) earned conference "athlete of the week" honors for her play with the women's field hockey team.

Lobaugh led the Eagle offense recording two goals in Juniata's 14-0 victory over Washington & Jefferson. She followed up that performance by scoring a goal and adding an assist in a 2-0 victory over Slippery Rock. Lobaugh also scored the only goal in a 1-0 Juniata victory in the championship game of the Juniata Tournament. The goal against Slippery Rock gave her five goals in four games, and put her in first place on the team in goals. She also shares the team lead in points with 12.

Lobaugh is sparking the Eagles in only her sophomore season, following a freshman campaign in which she appeared in only eight of the team's 16 games, starting in none of them. She also did not record a single point as a freshman.

With Lobaugh leading the way offensively, the Eagles have come flying out of the gate posting a perfect 4-0 record and earning a no. 15 ranking in the NCAA Division III Field Hockey Coaches Poll . They swept two games in the season-opening Juniata Tournament, both by one-goal margins. On the strength of the rout of Washington & Jefferson, they are outscoring their opponents 20-2. It is the first time since the 1989 season that the Eagles have started a season 4-0. That team went on to record a 9-3 record.

The Eagles look to continue their early-season success as they take on Indiana (Pa.) on Sept. 12, and then Dickinson on Sept. 14.
