HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- The Juniata College women's volleyball maintained its number two in the nation ranking, while field hockey dropped two spots down to 18th, when each sport's national poll was unveiled on Tuesday.

Women's volleyball (8-0) held at second with 576 points in the AVCA Division III Top 25 coaches poll, trailing top-ranked Washington University-St. Louis with 600 points and all 24 first-place votes.

Emory University was third in the rankings with 550 points, followed by Calvin College (514 points) and Wittenberg University (498). Hope College (476), Wisconsin-Oshkosh (410), Wisconsin-Whitewater (401), Colorado College (393) and Eastern University (391) round out the top ten.

In field hockey, Juniata (3-3) earned 138 points to keep a spot in the top 20. Salisbury University (835 points) and Messiah College (753 points), both teams Juniata faced earlier this season, remain one and two in the Kookaburra/NFHCA Division III Top 20 coaches poll. Tufts University (718) and Ursinus College (689) are third and fourth, while Cortland State (665) and Lebanon Valley College (665) are tied for fifth. Trinity College, Conn., (486), Rowan University (429) and Christopher Newport University (429), and Middlebury College (427) complete the top ten.

Juniata field hockey makes its home debut this Saturday, Sept. 18, when it hosts Delaware Valley College, while women's volleyball heads to Greencastle, Ind., to take part in the DePauw University Invitational.
