HOBOKEN, N.J. -- The Juniata College field hockey team traveled to Hoboken, N.J., to take on the Stevens Institute of Technology in non-conference action. The Eagles scored once per half to shutout the Ducks 2-0.

Shauna Deschenes (Duncannon, Pa./Susquenita) had what proved to be the game-winning goal in the 24th minute of the match with an assist by Meghan McGlone (Coopersburg, Pa./Southern Lehigh). In the 48th minute Paula Price's (Camp Hill, Pa./East Pennsboro) goal assisted by Kim Amrod (Ridgefield, Conn./Ridgefield) secured the win for the Eagles.

Moira Nugent (Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg) was the winning goalie for the day. She saw 70 minutes of play and saved five shots. Stevens' goalie, Ellyn Griggs, also saw 70 minutes and had four saves.

Juniata outshot Stevens 11-10. Stevens had one more penalty corner than the Eagles with a 13-12 edge.

Stevens will serve as a neutral site between Juniata and The College of New Jersey on Sunday, Sept. 5. Game time is scheduled for a 12:00 p.m. start.
