HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- Elizabethtown High School, coached by Juniata alumnus Mike Cottle '89, downed Red Land High School in Saturday's championship game of the Juniata College 7-on-7 Passing Tournament at Knox Stadium.

Final score was 24-15 in favor of Elizabethtown, who posted a 5-0 record in the double-elimination championship round.

The Red Land squad was also led by a Juniata alumnus - Cottle's Class of 1989 classmate Frank Gay.

Red Land won the "Big Man Challenge", a series of strength and agility contests for offensive and defensive linemen. Challenges included tug-of-war, sled drive, change of direction drills, and an obstacle course.

Juniata College head football coach Carmen Felus was pleased with both the turnout and the level of competition in the event, which was being held for its second year.

"The camp and tournament allowed high school teams the chance to compete and gain valuable game experience heading into their 2010 seasons, and for our staff it was a great day to evaluate over 400 prospective recruits and spend valuable time with the players and high school coaches on our campus," said Felus. "For our football program, it allows us to get a head start on our 2011 recruiting class and to continue the great relationship we have with high school coaches across the state and the eastern region."
