CARLISLE, Pa. - The Juniata College men's basketball team took a 34-32 lead with 16:08 left to go in the second half and never looked back. From there, they beat Dickinson College 54-52 on Tuesday evening, in Carlisle, Pa.

Senior Jeff Berkey, (Stoystown, Pa./Shanksville-Stonycreek) led the Eagles with 13 points including five defensive rebounds. He shot 4-8 from the floor including 1-2 from beyond the three-point arc and 4-4 from the free-throw line.

The Eagles took the lead by a jumper from Berkey with 16:08 remaining in regulation and never looked back.

The lead extended to as many as nine points for Juniata (3-1) off a made foul shot by rookie Alex Raymond, with 5:14 remaining in the half.

For the game, Raymond contributed 10 points on 1-7 shooting, but 8-10 from the charity stripe. He is not 34-38 from the line this season.

The Eagles held off a fury by Dickinson (0-3) late in the game as they looked to tie it up. A made three pointer by Matt Dolan with 1:43 left to play made it a 52-52 ball game before the game winner.

Newcomer Darnell Wiley put home the game winner with a made layup 17 seconds remaining on the scoreboard. He scored after creating a turnover, creating a fast break opportunity.

The Red Devils never recovered, as the Eagles escaped with the two-point victory.

Juniata returns to action at Franklin & Marshall College on Saturday, Nov. 28, at 7 p.m. The team's next home game will be on November 30, at 7:30 p.m. when the Eagles take on Penn State Wilkes-Barre in the Kennedy Sports + Recreation Center.
