HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- Juniata College senior Matt Bailey (East Petersburg, Pa./Hempfield) received an individual qualifier for the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships, when the full field of 32 teams and 56 individuals was announced Sunday afternoon.

Bailey is the first Juniata cross country runner in program history to qualify for the NCAA Division III cross country championship. He finished 27th overall at Saturday's NCAA Mideast Region meet in Bethlehem, Pa., posting a time of 25:58.2; also becoming the first Juniata man to ever run sub-26 minutes on an eight kilometer course.

The NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships will be held on Saturday, Nov. 21, and hosted by Baldwin-Wallace College at the Highland Hills Golf Club in Highland Hills, Ohio. The men's 8K race will start at noon. A total of 32 teams were selected to participate, as well as the top seven finishers from each of the eight regional meets who were not members of a team that advanced to nationals.
