HUNTINGDON, Pa. - The Juniata College field hockey team received 190 points and moved up to no. 17 on this week's Kookaburra/NFHCA Division III National Coaches poll, for records through October 11.

Last week, the team defeated Susquehanna University and Catholic University to stay unbeaten in the Landmark Conference. The Eagles were able to record their third straight shutout as they topped Susquehanna 2-0 on Wednesday, Oct. 7. They then followed that up with a 2-1 victory over Catholic on Saturday, Oct. 10, played at Susquehanna due to unplayable field conditions on Winton Hill Field.

There was only one change in this week's top five teams. Messiah College remains first with a record of 11-0. They received 43 of 46 first place votes. Salisbury University, Tufts University and Ursinus College follow in second through fourth places. SUNY Cortland enters the top five with an 11-0 record, replacing Trinity College in that fifth spot.

Juniata had a set back Monday evening, losing 1-0 to Alvernia University under the lights in Reading, Pa. The loss did not factor into the rankings, but the Eagles now stand at 11-3 overall.

They will continue their Landmark Conference schedule on Saturday, Oct. 17, when they travel to New Jersey to take on Drew University at 1 p.m.
