HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- Heather Redding's first half goal was all Stevenson University would need to defeat Juniata College 2-0 in women's soccer action Wednesday at Winton Hill Field.

Off a pass from Melinda Kane, Redding blasted the ball into the Eagle goal from inside 18 yards in the 32nd minute to put the Mustangs on the board.

Stevenson secured the win in the 89th minute off a Samantha Novy shot. Novy booted the ball past Juniata keeper junior Kristen Penska (North Huntingdon, Pa./Norwin) off Stephanie Eyler's pass to the left post.

Penska played all 90 minutes in goal for the Eagles recording two saves, bringing her save percentage to .708. Mustang goalkeeper Lauren Weitzman recorded two saves in 90 minutes of play.

Stevenson outshot Juniata 14-11; however Juniata held a 7-3 advantage in corner kicks. The Mustangs found themselves offsides ten times compared to the Eagles' zero.

Juniata will take the field again on Saturday, October 3rd in a conference road game against Moravian College at 1 p.m.
