HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- Juniata College freshman Matt Regan (Downingtown, Pa./Devon Prep) tossed a two-hit complete game gem to lead the Eagles past the University of Scranton, 4-2, in Landmark Conference baseball action Sunday afternoon on Langdon-Goodale Field.

Regan fanned four Royals and walked four, while allowing one hit in the second inning and another in the sixth on his way to his first collegiate pitching victory. Of the two runs he allowed, only one was earned.

Juniata (12-16, 5-10 Landmark) took an early lead in the contest with two runs in the second inning. Ian Thorne (Germantown, Md./Seneca Valley) scored Dane Ott (South Williamsport, Pa./South Williamsport) on a single up the middle, and Greg Hoffman (Phoenix, Md./Dulaney) crossed later in the inning on a wild pitch, after getting aboard on a base hit through the right side of the infield.

The Eagles scored what proved to be the game-winning run in the fifth inning, when Kevin Small (Wheaton, Ill./Wheaton North) reached on a two-out single, advanced to second on a wild pitch, and came home on John Martinez's (Mount Union, Pa./Mount Union) double through the right side.

Andrew Kriss (Forest Hill, Md./John Carroll) scored an insurance run for Juniata in the sixth on Matt Sullivan's (Elizabethtown, Pa./Elizabethtown) fielder's choice grounder to second base.

Scranton (15-15, 7-8 Landmark) broke the shutout with two runs in the top of the sixth, with both runs scoring on a Chris Psihoules double.

Royals starter Charles Comprelli allowed all four Juniata runs, three of which were earned, on 10 hits, with four walks and three strikeouts in seven innings of work. Reliever Mike Sidlowski came on for Comprelli in the eighth inning, and allowed one hit with one strikeout.

Juniata will return to action on Monday, April 20, when the Eagles face Gettysburg College in a road game scheduled to start at 3:30 p.m.
