HUNTINGDON, Pa. â?" Allegheny College scored 11 runs on 11 hits and took advantage of six Juniata College errors, as the Eagles fell to the Gators 11-3 in collegiate baseball action on Tuesday afternoon at Langdon-Goodale Field.

Senior Kevin Small (Wheaton, Ill./Wheaton North) led the Eagles at the plate with a pair of singles, and had one of Juniata's two runs batted in on the day. Junior Kyle Saxman (York, Pa./York Suburban) had the other Juniata RBI on a 1-for-4 effort at the plate.

Allegheny went up 4-0 over the first two innings, including a three-run outburst in the second that was keyed by RBI singles off the bat of Aaron Lynch and Zach Skowvron.

Juniata (8-10) broke the shutout in the third inning, when senior Matt Sullivan (Elizabethtown, Pa./Elizabethtown) reached on a leadoff single through the left side, and eventually scored on John Martinez's (Mount Union, Pa./Mount Union) double play grounder to second base. The Eagles tacked on single runs in the fifth, when Small singled home Adam Spadafora (Asbury, N.J./Pennington School); and again in the sixth when Dan Ott (South Williamsport, Pa./South Williamsport) reached on a double, and crossed on Saxman's groundout to second base.

The Eagles had their opportunities to score, leaving at least one runner stranded in each inning with two left on base in the seventh and ninth innings.

Allegheny (8-9) posted single runs of its own in the sixth and eighth, before sealing the win with five runs in the top of the ninth behind four hits and three Eagle errors.

The two teams combined for 10 errors on the day, with six of Allegheny 11 runs crossing the plate as earned runs.

Eagle starter Matt Regan (Downingtown, Pa./Devon Prep) struck out five and allowed two earned runs on five hits over his five innings of work, and was charged with the loss. Five other Juniata pitchers saw action in the game over the final four frames.

Juniata returns to action on Saturday, April 4, when it hosts the United States Merchant Marine Academy in a Landmark Conference doubleheader.
