HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- Senior forward David Thompson (Altoona, Pa./Altoona) poured in 20 points to lead Juniata College to a 69-58 win over Penn State-DuBois, in Saturday afternoon's consolation game of the 2008 Mutual Benefit Group Doc Greene Invitational in Huntingdon, Pa.

Eric Mueseler (Latrobe, Pa./Latrobe) tacked on 13 points for the Eagles, and was the lone Juniata (1-2) selection on the All-Tournament team. Mueseler averaged 16.5 points on .550 shooting from the floor over the two games.

Junior Jeff Berkey (Stoystown, Pa./Shanksville-Stonycreek) added 16 points to the Juniata cause.

Juniata went on an 8-0 run to open the game, including back-to-back layups by Justin Baker (Nanty Glo, Pa./Bishop Carroll). Penn State DuBois (2-2) cut the Juniata lead to a single point, 14-13 with 9:03 left in the opening half; that run was fueled by a pair of foul shots and a three-pointer by Jimmy Higgins, along with a layup by Marcus Genevro. The Eagles ended the half with a trey by Thompson and a layup by Matt Regan (Downingtown, Pa./Devon Prep), and went into the break with a 32-24 lead.

Penn State DuBois' Genevro opened the second half with a layup, cutting the Juniata lead to six points, but it was all Eagles from there. Juniata went on a 11-2 run, including three-pointers by Mueseler and Berkey, and had a 15-point lead, 43-28, with 17:24 showing.

Juniata's lead reached its widest at 19 points, 61-42 with 7:43 to play, following a Berkey three â?" one of his three three-pointers of the game.

Penn State DuBois was paced by Genevro and Chris Dickison with 15 points each, while Jovan Brown tacked on 11 points.

In the championship game of the 2008 Mututal Benefit Group Doc Greene Invitational, St. Vincent College defeated Alfred University, 85-54.

Joining Mueseler on the All-Tournament team was Penn State DuBois' Dickison, along with Bobby Barry and Carl Embury from Alfred University, and B.J. McGill from St. Vincent College. Joey Butler was the 2008 Doc Greene Invitational Most Valuable Player.

Juniata continues its home stand this Tuesday, when the Eagles face Dickinson College at 6:00 p.m. at the Kennedy Sports + Recreation Center in Huntingdon, Pa.
