HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- Juniata College middle hitter Erin Albert (Philipsburg, Pa./Philipsburg-Osceola) was named Landmark Conference Volleyball Player of the Week, while Lauren Auster-Gussman (Lancaster, Pa./Lancaster Country Day) earned Landmark Conference Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week honors, when the league's weekly honors were announced on Monday.

Competing against Division I and II opponents, Albert turned in a pair of strong performances last weekend at the Seton Hill triangular. She tallied 11 kills with a .308 hitting percentage while adding four blocks, four digs, and an ace in Juniata's 3-2 loss to Princeton. Albert finished the triangular by hitting .583 with eight kills and one error on 12 swings in a 3-0 win over the host squad from Seton Hill.

Albert finished the weekend with 23 points over the two matches, hitting .395 and posting 19 kills.

Juniata (13-1, 3-0 Landmark), ranked number one in the nation in the AVCA Division III poll, will travel to Latrobe, Pa., on Thursday to face St. Vincent College, before completing league play this Saturday and Sunday at the second of two Landmark Conference round robin weekends.

Auster-Gussman came up big with three saves to lead Juniata women's soccer to a 1-0 win over Moravian College, in the team's league opener this past Saturday in Huntingdon. The shutout was Auster-Gussman's fourth shutout of the season.

The Eagle women's soccer team (6-2-0, 1-0-0 Landmark) will face McDaniel College on Tuesday in Westminster, Md., before returning home to host Catholic University on Saturday in Huntingdon.
