HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- Tom Benoit a former varsity swimmer at Westminster College (Pa.), has been named head women's swimming coach at Juniata College. He will begin his duties at Juniata in early August.

"Tom brings a demonstrated commitment to success and a fresh enthusiasm to Juniata College, and I believe he is the right person at the right time for Juniata women's swimming," said Larry Bock, Juniata's athletics director. "His accomplishments as a student-athlete underscore his understanding of what it takes to complete at a championship level in Division III, and I'm confident this will help him build our program here at Juniata."

Benoit comes to Juniata from Westminster College in New Wilmington, Pa., where he was a four-year member of the Titan men's swimming team. While at Westminster, he earned First team All-Presidents Athletic Conference honors in the 200, 400, and the 800 freestyle relay with this second place finishes in the PAC Championships. He was also a Second team All-PAC honoree during his freshman season in the 500 freestyle.

Over his four years on the Titan swim team, Benoit was a member of four PAC champion relay teams, and helped guide Westminster to three straight PAC Championships from 2005 to 2007.

Benoit will graduate this summer from Westminster with a bachelor's degree in broadcast communications.
