HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- Juniata College senior Matt Fritz (Churchville, Md./John Carroll) has been the EIVA Tait Division Player of the Week for the week ending April 6, it was announced Monday by the conference office staff.

Fritz posted a .447 attack percentage over Juniata's two matches last week - a 3-0 loss at Princeton, and a 3-0 victory over East Stroudsburg - with 31 kills on 47 swings. He registered 14 kills and a .706 attack percentage in the win against the Warriors, his highest attack percentage in a match this season. Fritz also tallied 17 kills in the loss against Princeton, matching his third-best kill total this season.

For the week, Fritz averaged 5.2 kills, 1.0 blocks, and 4.3 points per game. Through 22 matches, Fritz is averaging 3.47 kills per game (267 total) with a .200 attack percentage. He has 89 digs (1.16 per game) and 29 total blocks (0.38 per game).

Juniata is currently 10-12 overall, 6-6 in the EIVA's Tait Division, and will face Springfield College in Friday's semifinals of the 2008 Molten Division III Men's Volleyball Invitational Championship. The Eagles will be going for their fifth-straight Molten Division III championships, and sixth in the program's history.
