HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- Juniata College senior Steve Wilk (Blairsville, Pa./Blairsville) has been named the Landmark Conference Baseball Player of the Week, for the week ending March 16.

Wilk is the third Juniata player to win the award in as many weeks.

Wilk helped guide the Eagles to a doubleheader sweep of Catholic University in Juniata's conference opener on Saturday. He scored what proved to be the winning run in the first game of the twinbill, crossing the plate on a wild pitch in the top of the seventh after reaching on a single. Juniata won that game 9-8. In game two, he belted a lead off solo home run in the top of the fifth, against plating what turned out to be the winning run in a 7-6 victory.

For the week, Wilk hit .500 (4-for-8) with a .875 slugging percentage and a .500 on base percentage. He scored four runs with his one RBI.

Juniata is currently 3-6 on the season, 2-0 in Landmark Conference play. The Eagles are slated to host Pitt-Bradford on Tuesday afternoon and Elizabethtown College on Thursday, before hosting Drew University in a conference series on Friday and Saturday.
