HUNTINGDON, Pa. - A Juniata College rally fell short of the mark as the Eagle men's soccer team dropped a 3-2 decision to Goucher College, on Senior Day at Winton Hill Field in Huntingdon, Pa. The Gophers built a 2-0 lead on goals by Geoffrey Gray-Cornelius in the 21st minute, and Alexis Mathov in the 40th minute. Evan Rosse was credited with the assist on Mathov's goal. Juniata (3-14-0, 1-6-0 Landmark) began to chip away at the Goucher lead in the early in the second half, when Bryan Hess (Hanover, Pa./South Western) scored an unassisted goal in the 49th minute. Julien Greco responded for the Gophers in the 63rd minute, with a goal off an assist from Andrew Eden. Matt Wren (Pittsburgh, Pa./Keystone Oaks) trimmed the Goucher lead to 3-2 in the 63rd minute, with the assist going to Andrew Steffen (Lewisberry, Pa./Red Land). Ted Sonneborn (Syracuse, N.Y./Manlius Pebble Hill) played all 90 minutes in the Eagle goal, and finished with two saves. Justin Holbrook recorded three saves for Goucher in 90 minutes played. Juniata outshot the Gophers 14-8, while Goucher held a 7-6 advantage in corner kicks.
