HUNTINGDON, Pa. - The University of Scranton's lone goal in the 59th minute proved to be the difference maker as Juniata College fell to the Royals, 1-0, in Landmark Conference men's soccer action Saturday afternoon at Winton Hill Field in Huntingdon. Tim Logan scored the game-winner for Scranton, tapping a ball past Eagle keeper Joe Kohler (Vienna, Va./James Madison) off a pass from Michael Drew. That was the only blemish on an otherwise stellar performance by Juniata's freshman keeper. Kohler turned aside several point-blank shots by Scranton in the first half, allowing the Eagles to stay competitive in a game in which they were outshot 12-3. Kohler finished the day with four saves. "Joe Kohler played a fantastic game today, and he kept us in it,\" said Juniata head coach Dan Dubois. "He's the reason we were still able to be in it at the end, and give us a chance to tie the game.\" Scranton keeper Brandon Dombrowski did not record a single save during his 90 minutes in the Scranton goal. Scranton held a 5-3 edge in corner kick opportunities, and was also whistled three times for being offsides. Scranton also held a 20-18 lead in fouls during the highly physical match. "It was physical both ways - not dirty, just physical - and our guys were ready for that,\" said Dubois. "We talked earlier in the week about how the team that was going to win this game was going to be the team that almost willed the game in their favor - the team that physically wanted it more.\" Juniata will continue Landmark Conference play this Wednesday, Oct. 17, when they travel to Selinsgrove, Pa., to face Susquehanna University.
