HUNTINGDON, Pa. - Following the most successful season in the history of the Juniata College women\'s soccer program the Eagles will add even more talent to the roster in the Fall of 2007 as the team has finalized its recruiting class. Coach Scott McKenzie has brought in seven players who will join the team for preseason training. The class features two goalkeepers and seven field players. Coach McKenzie has been considering different systems of play with more emphasis on putting numbers forward into the attack and this class enables him to continue that evaluation as several of the field players bring impressive resumes as attacking options. \"These are good student-athletes with great soccer backgrounds,\" McKenzie said. \"This group will help give us a level of depth we\'ve really never had with our women\'s program. This group has the ability to make an impact on our success very quickly.\" Joining the Eagles for 2007 will be goalkeeping prospects Lauren Auster-Gussman (Lancaster Country Day School/Lancaster) and Kristen Penska (Norwin/North Huntingdon) and field players Laura Fisher (ELCO/Myerstown), Bess Englehardt (Honeoye CentralSpringwater, N.Y.), Caitlin Bigelow (Our Lady of Peace/La Mesa, Calif.), Lauren Brant (Boyertown/Gilbertsville), Erin Eddinger (Boyertown/Barto), Elizabeth Van Blarcom (Troy/Columbia Cross Roads) and Katie Young (Huntingdon/Huntingdon). Juniata graduated just three players from the team that established a new program record for wins in a season in 2006. The Eagles finished the year 10-8-1 which included a pair of wins in conference play, which also established a new record. The Eagles will be competing in a new conference in 2007 as Juniata officially begins competition in the Landmark Conference.
