Huntingdon, PA - Juniata College senior baseball player Walt Goedkoop (Manheim Township/Lancaster) and sophomore pitcher Jason Enoch (Hempfield/Landisville) have been selected as the Commonwealth Conference Player and Pitcher of the Week respectively for their efforts in three Juniata wins this past week.

Goedkoop provided offensive punch for Juniata as the Eagles swept a three-game series with Commonwealth Conference foe Moravian as part of the team's spring break trip in Phoenix, Ariz. In the first game of a doubleheader the senior designated hitter went 2-for-3 with a home run, three runs scored and a pair of RBI. He then collected his second home run of the season as one of his two hits in the second game of the doubleheader, while driving in another pair of runs. Goedkoop then added one more hit in the series finale against the Greyhounds, giving him five hits in 10 at-bats over the three-game series. He finished the series with three extra-base hits, five runs scored and four RBI.

Enoch pitched Juniata to an 8-1 victory in the finale of the three-game series against the Greyhounds. The sophomore hurler tossed eight innings, allowing just three hits and one unearned run. He fanned seven batters on the game, matching the third-highest single-game total of his career. It was Enoch's sixth career victory in eight starts against Commonwealth Conference competition and the fourth time he has struck out seven or more hitters in a conference start.

Goedkoop and Enoch both figure to play important roles for Juniata as the Eagles push for a conference championship in 2006. Goedkoop is a two-time All-Conference player and led Juniata in home runs, slugging percentage and RBI in 2005 and was second in both hits and runs. Enoch was tabbed as the Commonwealth Rookie of the Year in 2005 when he tied for the Juniata lead in victories and was also tops on the pitching staff with 51 strikeouts. His 3.58 earned run average was second-best among the regular starters.

Juniata is off to a 3-3 start to the 2006 season after claiming the three victories over Moravian. The Eagles will play 10 games as part of their trip to Phoenix, before getting back into conference action with a game against Susquehanna March 16.
