Huntingdon, PA - Juniata College placed 42 athletes on the Middle Atlantic States Collegiate Athletic Corporation (MAC) Academic Honor Roll for the fall sports season. To be eligible for the award a student-athlete must be a sophomore, junior or senior; have a minimum 3.20 cumulative grade-point average and have completed the fall sports season in good standing on their team.

Juniata's 42 honor roll selections were the ninth-most honorees among the conference institutions, and were the sixth-most among schools with football programs. The Eagles had at least one representatives from each of the seven varsity sports that compete in the fall.

Juniata's football team led the way with 10 honor roll selections. Seniors Troy Beaver (Bellwood-Antis/Bellwood), Gerry Miceli (Mechanicsburg/Mechanicsburg), Steve Parsons (Blackhawk/Beaver Falls) and Peter Thomas (Mechanicsburg/Mechanicsburg) all claimed the honor in their final seasons. Kiel G. Knisely (Claysburg-Kimmel/Queen) and Erica Vinson (Arlington/LaGrangeville, N.Y.) represented the junior class and Justin Armbruster (Conrad Weister/Stouchsburg), Tyler Payne (Mansfield/Mansfield) and Zach Swartz (Juniata/Port Royal) were all Honor Roll members from the sophomore class.

The Eagles' field hockey team claimed seven honorees in the fall, the second-most of any Juniata program. Rebekah Hauser (Mt. Lebanon/Pittsburgh) and Sara Roux (Lewiston/Lewiston, Maine) were the two senior members to claim the honors. Cory Hamblet (South Carroll/Westminster, Md.) and Bobbi Rickenbaugh (East Juniata/McAlisterville) nabbed honor roll spots in their junior seasons. The remaining three selections were sophomores as Ashleigh Ehnts (Bishop McDevitt/Glenside), Leslie Stern (Red Lion/Felton) and Amanda Wimer (Solanco/Quarryville) received the honors.

Men's cross country placed six runners on the Honor Roll, including a pair of seniors. Adam Loser (Central York/York) and Mike Vella (Hollidaysburg/Hollidaysburg) both received honor roll status following their senior seasons. Mike Chirdon (Riverview/Verona) was the lone junior on the team to capture the recognition while sophomores Ryan Conrad (Waynesboro/Waynesboro), Jason Hoover (Brandywine/Wilmington, Del.) and Shawn Rumery (Thornton Academy/Dayton, Maine) all received the honor for the first time.

Three Juniata teams finished with five Honor Roll representatives. One of them was the men's soccer team. Robert Bowser (Dallastown/York) and Jeff Gehring (Exeter Township/Reading) were seniors to claim the honor, while sophomores Craig Pannone (Wolcott/Wolcott, Conn.), Jon Van Blarcom (Troy/Columbia Cross Roads) and Kenneth Wiles (Rhinebeck/Rhinebeck, N.Y.) were also selected.

The women's soccer team matched the men with five selections as well. Juniors Lindsey Garvey (Willsboro Central/Essex, N.Y.) and Kelly Howard (Bishop McCort/Johnstown) earned the nods as upperclassmen, with sophomores Brosi Bradley (Bald Eagle/Port Matilda), Shiloe Mokay (Delaware Academy/Treadwell, N.Y.) and Lisa Russo (Lakeland/Haskell, N.J.) completing the honors for the women's soccer team.

Another team to earn five spots was the women's cross country team. Three seniors were Honor Roll selections in their final seasons as Katey Glunt (Bellefonte/Bellefonte), Nancy Hayes (Westminster/Westminster, Md.) and Susan Tranior (Piscataway/Piscataway, N.J.) were all chosen. Junior Lauren Gates (Bishop Guilfoyle/Altoona) and sophomore Corrine Barabas (Pen Argyl/Pen Argyl) also were tabbed as Honor Roll picks.

Juniata's women's volleyball team captured three Honor Roll selections. Abby Leonard (Shade/Johnstown) was selected as a senior while sophomores Tara McMinn (Huntingdon/Huntingdon) and Aly Pompeani (Hopewell/Aliquippa) earned the honor in the first year they were eligible.

Rounding out Juniata's selections to the team was junior Megan Carpenter (Huntingdon/Huntingdon) who represented Juniata women's tennis team.
