HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- Students from the instrumental music department at Juniata College will present an annual Honors Recital at 8 p.m., Friday, Dec. 9 in Rosenberger Auditorium in the Halbritter Center for the Performing Arts on the Juniata campus.

The event is free and open to the public.

The concert will include solo performances and small ensemble groups of string instruments, percussion instruments and woodwinds.

Student performers and soloists include:

Elena Ritchey, a junior from Lewistown, Pa., will play the flute, performing "Meditation from Thais," by Jules Massenet.

Liana James, a freshman from Boulder, Colo., will play the cello, performing "Prelude from Bach's Cello Suite No. 3" by J.S. Bach.

Julia Gwin, a senior from Denver, Pa., will play the flute, performing "Concerto in D Major" by Wolfgang Mozart.

Christopher Ree, a sophomore from Copake, N.Y., will play the violoncello, performing "Six English Folksongs" by Ralph Vaughn Williams. Ree and cellist Liana James also will perform "Sonate C" by Michel Corrette.

Erica Rhodes, a junior from Huntingdon, Pa., will play the flute, performing "Nocturne" by Philippe Gaubert.

Ariane Parde, an international student from Lille, France, will play the flute, performing "Suite Modale" by E. Bloch.
