Elizabethtown, Pa.? Playing its second match in as many days against one of the top teams in the Commonwealth Conference, the Juniata College men?s tennis team was unable to pull out a victory as the Eagles fell by a 6-1 to Elizabethtown Friday afternoon. Juniata is now 6-4 overall and 2-4 in the Commonwealth, while the Blue Jays improved to 10-4 overall and 6-0 in the conference.

The home team controlled the three doubles matches to capture the doubles point in the match. The third doubles duo of Jack Walfish (Spring-Ford/Royersford) and Michael Meadows (Hollidaysburg/Duncansville) provided the tightest of the doubles decisions as they fell 8-2.

In singles action Romain Plessis (Catholic University of Lille/Lyon, France) provided Juniata?s lone win as he earned a 6-3, 3-6, 10-7 victory at the sixth singles position. Brian Sykes (Gateway Regional/Woodburry Heights, N.J.) extended his number-two singles match to three sets but fell by a 6-3, 3-6, 10-0 score. Each of Juniata?s other four singles matches were decided in straight sets.

Juniata returns to action with its regular-season finale on Tuesday, as the Eagles host Susquehanna for a Commonwealth match.
