Huntingdon, Pa. -- The Juniata College men's soccer team hung with the ninth-ranked team in the country for 45 minutes, but a second-half surge for the home team was the difference as Juniata fell to Messiah College 11-0 in Commonwealth Conference action Wednesday afternoon in Grantham.

Juniata is now 3-9-1 on the season and 0-3 in the Commonwealth Conference. Messiah remained unbeaten in the conference and 12-1 overall.

The Eagles fell behind early as Messiah's David McClellan scored at the 4:25 mark. He would add two more first-half goals to send the teams into halftime with Juniata trailing 3-0.

The game swung drastically in the second half as Messiah added eight goals in the final 45 minutes. Seth Lehman and Dan Wagner each scored a pair of goals in the secon half, with four other Falcons each tallying once.

Juniata keeper Mark Guthridge made eight saves in net for Juniata, while Messiah's Chris Vincent came on the the second half to make one save.

Juniata will play its final home match of the season on Saturday when the Eagles welcome conference foe Albright to Huntingdon.
