Super Internships

Super Internship Awards Are Provided Through the Juniata Alumni Internship Endowment

The JUNIATA ALUMNI INTERNSHIP ENDOWMENT is established by gifts from several individuals, but first by those of Scott O’Neill ’80. The JUNIATA ALUMNI INTERNSHIP ENDOWMENT shall be used to provide support to students taking advantage of internships where circumstances and costs would otherwise prove prohibitive. 

The maximum award available to a single student is $5,000 per year. The money can defray costs associated with housing, transportation, and/or supplement living expenses. Students wishing to apply for consideration must have either a confirmed internship offer or have an application in progress with strong likelihood of a committed employer. They must then contact the Office of Career Development and either submit or develop a budget for the experience with career services staff. Final determination of which students receive awards, how much they receive and how those funds will be distributed will be made by the Juniata College Internship Committee. Funds will not be distributed until a student can provide confirmation of a secured internship placement.

Eligibility:  Applicants must be a full-time, matriculated Juniata student with a graduation date after May 2024. Current seniors, graduating in May of the current application cycle are not eligible to receive Super Internship funding. Only undergraduate experiences are eligible. Priority given to first time recipients with a two-time funding limit. 

For research experiences occurring at Juniata College, students are encouraged to apply for Summer Scholarly Endeavors (SSE) grants at: https://www.juniata.edu/academics/research/funding.php

Since application timelines are similar, students may apply to both SSE and Super Internship programs simultaneously, however, students receiving SSE grants will no longer be eligible to receive Super Internship Funding for the same experience. Students who do not receive SSE grants and those participating in research experiences not occurring at Juniata College will be considered for Super Internship funding. 

Students receiving funding from other Juniata College funding sources for a summer experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
