Please visit this website to see if any of your classes have transferred to Juniata in the past. This may help
give you a sense of which classes will transfer over, but if you do not see your class
listed, don't worry. It may just mean that nobody has tried to transfer those credits
over before.
Students will have their work evaluated on a course-by-course basis after their transcript(s)
are received by Juniata.
Juniata does not accept in transfer any coursework below a grade of "C-" nor coursework
of a strictly technical or remedial nature, nor physical education coursework. Credit
is normally only awarded for courses taken at a similarly accredited institution.
Special circumstances may affect the transferability of an individual student record.
These cases will be handled on an individual basis and decisions will be based on
Juniata's academic policy. An official credit evaluation will be completed by the
Office of the Registrar after a student has been admitted to Juniata.
All credits taken at a regionally accredited institution will be considered for transfer
credit at Juniata College, with the following exceptions:
- Any grades below a C- are not accepted for transfer.
- Courses below the 100-level cannot be accepted for transfer.
- Courses that are technical/remedial in nature cannot be accepted for transfer.
- Physical education/athletic participation credits cannot be accepted for transfer.
All transfer students offered admission receive a merit scholarship from Juniata and
are eligible to be considered for additional need-based financial aid. Adding Juniata
to your FAFSA ensures that you are considered for Juniata’s need-based scholarships,
in addition to federal aid.
Students who have active PTK membership at their current community college and at
least a 3.85 GPA are eligible for consideration for Phi Theta Kappa Transfer Scholarships
at Juniata.
An official transcript from each college previously attended is required. The transcript must be sent directly to Juniata from the former institution(s).
The Transfer College Report Form must be completed by a college official who has access to your academic and disciplinary records (e.g. Your institution’s Registrar and/or Dean of Students.) The report is available on the Common App or will be provided by your Admission Counselor.
An official, final high school transcript indicating final grades and date of graduation is required. The transcript should be sent directly from the school to the admission office to be considered official. If you have more than 24 college credits, a high school transcript will not be required for admission.

All transfer students attend an Orientation before classes start. This is a great opportunity to meet other incoming transfer students and first-year students and have a smooth transition to life at Juniata. For students starting in the fall semester, we also highly recommend participating in Inbound, a three-day retreat where you will meet other students and participate in activities based on your hobbies and interests.
After you place your enrollment deposit, your Academic Advisor will reach out to you for a virtual meeting to schedule your classes before the semester begins. Be sure to check your email regularly!
