Huntingdon, Pa. - The Juniata College field hockey program will conduct a pair of camps for both advanced and beginning players on the College Hill campus this summer.

Juniata will host a "Power Camp" for players entering grades 6 through 12 and graduated seniors from June 21 through June 23. The cost of the "Power Camp" is $175 for overnight residents and $100 for commuters.

In addition, the College will also conduct a "Team and Individual Camp" for players entering grades 6 through 12 and graduated seniors from July 21 through July 25. The cost is $325 for overnight residents and $225 for commuters.
Juniata field hockey head coach Caroline Gillich will serve as the director of both camps. There will be other collegiate coaches and student-athletes on hand to help keep the camper to coach ratio very low

The "Power Camp" is geared towards the execution of those skills and tactics that make solid, individual players into great team players. Players will leave the camp with the attacking knowledge of passing for possession and elimination of defenders as well as the defensive smarts to defend dangerous passing lanes and players, to come up with interceptions.

The "Team and Individual Camp" can accommodate all levels of ability, including those who have never played. Campers will be divided into skill groups for morning and afternoon sessions and given instruction at their respective level of competition. The goal of the camp is to emphasize the mastery of fundamental skills, while having fun doing it.

Lunch will be provided each day and all in attendance for either session will receive a free camp t-shirt and water bottle, as well as access to the indoor pool.

The Juniata field hockey camps will utilize a new grass field and indoor facilities when needed. Please call the Juniata field hockey office at 814-641-3519 for further information.
