BRADFORD, Pa. -- Five Juniata College players scored in double figures to pace the Eagles to a 94-49 thrashing of the University of Pittsburgh-Bradford, in Juniata's women's basketball season opener on Sunday afternoon in Bradford, Pa.

Junior Jen Hnatuck (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Trinity) led the charge with 16 points - much of that in the first half, when she scored 14 points on 6-of-10 shooting from the field. Sophomore guard Ashton Bankos (York, Pa./York Catholic) added 15 points, while newcomer Paige Robertson (Altoona, Pa./Altoona Area) chipped in with 14 points.

Sophomore Meagan Raville (McSherrystown, Pa./Delone Catholic) and junior Erin McGinley (Ashland, Pa./Spring Grove) tacked on 12 and 10 points respectively.

Senior Kelly Rotan (Atco, N.J./Hammonton) dominated on the boards, pulling down 13 rebounds to lead a Juniata squad that outworked Pitt-Bradford on the glass, 40-20. Seven of Rotan's rebounds were on the offensive glass.

Juniata (1-0) shot 55.4% (36-65) for the game, while holding Pitt-Bradford to just 35.2% from the field. The Panthers struggled to find their shot in the first half, only pulling the trigger 24 times in the opening frame - only four more attempts than the Eagles had successful field goal attempts.

Pitt-Bradford's (0-1) Maggie Dalton scored 11 to lead the Panthers offensively, while Danielle Zeamer added nine points.

Juniata returns to action this Saturday, Nov. 21, when the Eagles face DeSales University in the opening round of the DeSales Starter's Pub Tip-Off Tournament. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
