HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- The Juniata College women's volleyball team received one first-place vote and was tapped second overall in the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division III Preseason Coaches Top 25 poll, released Wednesday.

Emory topped the poll with 595 points and 20 of a possible 24 first place votes, followed by Juniata with 555 points. The University of LaVerne narrowly trailed Juniata in third place with 550 points and two first place votes. Wisconsin-Oshkosh was fourth with 521 points, with Washington-St. Louis fifth with 495 points and one first place vote.

Ohio Northern (479), Carthage (446), Southwestern, Texas (413), and Wittenberg (381) were in the six through nine spots in the poll, while St. Benedict, Minn., and St. Thomas, Minn., were tied for tenth with 343 points.
