TOWSON, Md. -- The Juniata College women's track and field team finished second while the men's team was third at the 2009 Landmark Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships, which concluded Sunday at Goucher College in Towson, Md.

The Eagle women's track team amassed 154 points, behind the championship squad from Moravian College with 318 points. Susquehanna University was third with 145 points, followed by Catholic University (139), Goucher (27) and Merchant Marine (5).

Moravian completed the championship sweep by winning the Landmark men's crown with 285 points, edging second-place Susquehanna with 240.50 points and Juniata with 139.50 points. Catholic (62) was fourth, followed by Goucher (34) and Merchant Marine (21).

Melissa Johnson (Colonia, N.J./John F. Kennedy) had Juniata's lone first place finish of the day, when she won the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:06.02, taking First team All-Landmark Conference honors in the process.

Amy Reynolds (Harpers Ferry, W.Va./Jefferson) captured Second team All-Landmark Conference honors with her second place finish in the 400m dash, with a time of 59.55.

Johnson and Reynolds also ran legs for Juniata's second place squad in the 4x400m relay, with posted a time of 4:09.23. Joining Johnson and Reynolds on the relay squad were Courtney DeGemmis (Lansdale, Pa./Methacton) and Rebecca Shuke (Hopewell, Pa./Tussey Mountain).

On the men's side, Kyle Mazur (Ogdensburg, N.J./Morris Catholic) finished second in the shot put with a throw of 43-6, while fellow thrower Ryan Johnson (Mountaintop, Pa./Crestwood) was second in the hammer with a mark of 151-5.

Ceth Parker (Sabillasville, Md./Catoctin) was the lone track athlete to post an All-Landmark Conference performance, when he finished second in the 5000m run with a time to 16:21.39.

Juniata's women's track and field coaching staff, led by head coach Jon Cutright, was named the Landmark Women's Track and Field Coaching Staff of the Year.
