HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- Michael Keating, formerly executive director of Fulton Industrial Development Association, has accepted a position at Juniata College as associate director of development for foundations, corporations and government grants, effective immediately.

Keating's duties will include overseeing Juniata's grant programs for foundations corporations and government funding agencies in the college's Office of College Advancement.

Keating has been with the Fulton Industrial Development Association based in McConnelsburg, Pa. since January 2000. During his tenure, the association brought four industrial development projects to successful construction.

From 1984 to 1999, Keating served as executive director of Huntingdon County Business and Industry Inc. and is credited with developing a number of area business projects, including the construction of Riverview Business Center, the expansion of Bonney Forge Corp. and the recruitment of Berg Electronics (now FCI USA Inc.).

He started his career in business development as a regional marketing representative for the Southern Alleghenies Planning and Development Commission in Altoona, Pa. from 1979 to 1984.

He earned a bachelor's degree in English/communication in 1976 from the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown. He is currently enrolled in a graduate program for a master's of business administration from St. Francis University in Loretto, Pa. He also earned a certificate in management from Juniata College in 1991.

He is a member of numerous professional organizations, including the Pennsylvania Economic Development Association, Team Pennsylvania, the Fulton County Workforce Consortium and the PA Career Link Marketing Committee. He also is director and past president of the Friends of Raystown Lake.
