HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- Juniata College students studying fine arts and ceramics will exhibit art in a variety of media -- paintings, prints, photographs, ceramics and computer art -- at the Juniata College Museum of Art from Friday, March 17 to April 7.
There is an opening reception at the museum from 5 to 6:30 p.m., Friday, March 17. The reception and continuing exhibition is free and open to the public.
The exhibit will feature more than two dozen works made by Juniata students during the 2004-2005 academic year. The works on display were created in art classes supervised by Alexander McBride, professor of art, Bruce Erikson, assistant professor of art and Jack Troy, associate professor of art.
"The spring student show allows our student an opportunity to exhibit in a museum gallery, it enriches their experience as well as providing a cultural experience for students, faculty and the Huntingdon community," says Nancy Siegel, assistant professor of art history and director of the museum. "Every year brings a new group of student work, which makes this annual show an exciting experience for students and visitors."
The museum is located in historic Carnegie Hall at 17th and Moore streets in Huntingdon. Museum hours are Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturday, noon to 4 p.m. For more information, please call the museum at (814) 641-3505, or visit the Juniata College Web site at http://www.juniata.edu/museum.
