Plexus
The word “plexus” is taken from the Latin plectere, which means a network of interwoven parts. Juniata College’s Plexus program is a physical support network comprised of faculty, peer mentors and staff that help to enrich the students’ experience by assisting in their academic and social transition to college and the surrounding Huntingdon community.
Plexus focuses on multiculturalism, as it pertains to myriad identities that encompass ability, age, gender identity, sexual identity, nationality, race, ethnicity, religion, socioeconomic class and more!
Alpha Alpha Alpha Honors Society:
The National Honors Society of First-generation College Students
Alpha Alpha Alpha, or Tri-Alpha, was founded March 24, 2018, at Moravian College in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. The
Gamma Pi chapter of Tri-Alpha was chartered on May 1st, 2021, on Juniata College Campus.
Member Qualifications:
- The student has earned at least 36 credit/semester hours (or 54 quarter hours) towards a bachelor's degree
- The undergraduate student has achieved an overall undergraduate GPA of at least 3.2 on a 4.0 scale.
- Neither of the student's parents, nor stepparents, nor legal guardians, completed a bachelor's degree.
- Graduate students who are first-generation students can be admitted if they have completed the equivalent of at least one term of study (9 or more graduate credits) and have a GPA in their graduate program of at least 3.5.
Member Benefits:
- A certificate and pin signifying membership. Membership is for life.
