Dear Class of 2019:

"We make a living by what we get. We make a life by what we give."
- Winston Churchill

"Do not follow where the path may lead. Go, instead, where there is no path and leave a trail."
-Ralph Waldo Emerson

"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do."
- Mark Twain

Our time at Juniata is coming to a close. With that in mind, it is important to reflect on all of the experiences and memories that Juniata has brought to you. Remember the first time you stepped onto our beautiful campus and the nervousness you felt as Inbound quickly approached. You can remember the anticipation and excitement you felt every year trying to guess when Mountain Day would be, and then finally when you were happy to be woken up at 5 am by air horns. Finally, there was the bittersweet feeling of our last Madrigal, our last Liberal Arts symposium and everything in between. All of these things are made possible by the generosity of faculty and students who have come before us.

It is now our turn to give back to the college that has given so much to us. This is our first official duty as alumni for the future of Juniata College students and their families. We encourage you to remember all of the great things you have experienced here and hope that you want to extend that feeling to our upcoming Juniatians. Renovating the Ellis Ballroom will not only enhance the lives of students through allowing a better space for presentations, meetings, Liberal Arts symposium, tenting and special events and dinners, but it will be a better space for families as well. When students are first introduced to the college at orientation, their parents have an opportunity to meet with other parents and learn more about the school we love. As Juniata has given us all life-changing experiences, long-lasting friendships and the chance to study the things we are truly passionate about with some of the best and the brightest, we hope to continue to give our future students the same experience.

With your help, we can make a great institution even greater.
