15th Annual Landmark Conference Summer Research Symposium

The Landmark Summer Research Symposium brings together undergraduate researchers from the Landmark Conference schools. Students will present the results of their faculty/student collaborative research in poster or oral presentation sessions. This year, the event will be held at Juniata College. Lunch will be provided in the dining hall, with the symposium beginning at 12:45 p.m. and concluding by 5 p.m. We look forward to having you join us!

Conference Day Information

Check-In

For checking in, attendees should go to Ellis Hall. Buses and vans can drop off passengers in front of Ellis Hall (#40 on the map). View campus map
Lunch will be available for faculty mentors and student presenters who have pre-registered for lunch. For family and friends attending the symposium, lunch can be reserved and then paid for on site for $12. For those who did not pre-register, there is food available in downtown Huntingdon or on Route 22.


Parking

Visitors can park cars and vans in the parking lot next to the Kennedy Sports and Recreation Center or the stadium.
Buses can unload in front of Ellis Hall and park in the lot adjacent to Ellis Hall (#40 on the map). View campus map


Presentations

Posters stands and boards will be provided. The poster mounting board is 40" wide by 30" high. Posters larger than this will not fit on the mounting board, so the maximum poster size should be 40" x 30". All presentation rooms will be equipped with appropriate audio/visual equipment. Oral presentations should be no more than 12 minutes in length with 3 minutes allowed for questions. Prior to traveling to the symposium, oral presenters should make their presentation accessible via their email or on the cloud (e.g., a link to a Google Slides presentation or an attached PowerPoint file sent to yourself). At registration, there will be computers for oral presenters to access and download their presentation. (Be sure to bring your email/google etc. login information!). You may want to bring your own device with your presentation as a backup.

11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. – Registration and lunch

12:45 – 12:55 p.m. – Welcome and opening remarks

1 – 4:30 p.m. – Oral and poster presentations

Registration

All individuals who are attending the meeting must register. Even if you have submitted an abstract, you must also register for the meeting. If you are presenting you must register and submit an abstract. Completing the form below registers you for the conference. Please see the Submissions section below to submit an abstract. Abstracts will be accepted up through July 8, 2024.

Registration Deadlines:
The registration deadline if you would like lunch provided is July 12, 2024.

Lunch is provided for student presenters and faculty mentors. Friends and family members attending the conference can purchase lunch at the entrance to the dining hall or otherwise should make alternate arrangements for lunch.

Abstract submission deadline is July 8, 2024. Presentations will be in either a poster or oral format. Please indicate your preference on the submission form.  The conference program will be posted on July 15, 2024
To present at the conference you must also register separately.
