Overall Gift Commitments 2023: $15,865,514
Overall Giving
Juniata received a total of $15,865,514 from alumni and friends of the College and through partnerships with governmental agencies, private foundations, and corporations to support Juniata’s mission now and in perpetuity.
Planned Giving
Planned giving is providing for a future gift to Juniata through financial and estate plans. Because such gifts involve accumulated assets distributed over time or through one’s will, they empower donors to make leadership gifts beyond what they might think possible. The graph below shows the growth of recorded planned gifts since 2019. With a planned gift, you can take care of yourself and take care of Juniata.
Crescendo Interactive, Inc., a gift-planning industry leader, has recognized Juniata’s success in planned giving. Jim Watt, vice president for advancement at Juniata, contributed to the 2023 Crescendo Philanthropy Study Survey, citing increased visits, solicitations, and realized estate and planned gifts in the past year.
Alumni Giving
Many ranking and funding agencies use alumni participation percentages in determining which schools will receive grants and recognition. Every gift counts!
23% (3,587) Alumni Gave in the 2023 Giving Year
During the last five giving years, Juniata’s alumni participation rate was between 22% and 24%. The average alumni giving participation rate for some of our peer institutions during that same time period was between 10% and 14%.
Founders Steps Challenge
Through the Founders Steps Challenge, our alumni are able to engage in some friendly competition for class bragging rights, while showing their support for students and programs.
Individual classes vie for a spot on the steps of Founders Hall based on giving participation in this annual competition. Classes set a participation percentage goal for the giving year (June 1–May 31). If the class successfully reaches its goal, the class year is added to the steps for the display throughout the following year. To help your class earn (or maintain) a spot on the steps next year, make your annual gift at www.juniata.edu/give and/or connect with your Class Engagement Team at advancement@juniata.edu.
50th Reunion Giving Totals
Fiftieth Reunion giving is the compilation of class members’ gifts, pledges, and estate commitments during the five-year window leading up to their reunion. This campaign exemplifies the lasting legacy our alumni leave with the College.
