Nearly 500 alumni, friends, family, students, faculty, and staff from all generations celebrated Juniata’s rich traditions and got a glimpse of upcoming attractions during Alumni Weekend, June 6-9.
Other highlights included reunion class gatherings, the Alumni Awards Ceremony, a lively All Class Celebration, the Saturday picnic lunch held under a huge tent on the Quad, diverse and engaging Alumni College classes, a wine tasting presented by Tod Manspeaker '83 of Briar Valley Winery, and an interactive question and answer session with President Jim Troha and the leadership team, where guests learned about the progress of curricular initiatives and the competitive college enrollment landscape.
Additionally, the Class of 1969 presented its 50th reunion class gift of $2,845,469.69 to the College. Of that total, $367,013.69 was designated specifically to the upcoming renovation of Beeghly Library and was the largest cash commitment ever given to Juniata from a 50th reunion class! One hundred and seven classmates (53% of the class) donated to the class gift, earning them a place on the steps of Founders Hall.
Reunions were also celebrate by the Classes of ’59, ’64, '74, '79, '84, '89, '94, and Emeriti alumni.
The annual Alumni Association Awards were presented to Heng Lim ’59 (Alumni Achievement), Ibada Wadud ’07 (Young Alumni Achievement), Robert Pierson ’61 (Alumni Humanitarian), and Randy ’79 & Pam (Green) Kochel ’80 (Alumni Service).
