Juniata students and alumni contribute substantially to the fields of medicine while they affect the lives of patients and communities every day.

Many of our alumni—like Doug Spotts ’89, the president of the American Academy of Family Physicians; James Madara ’71, the chief executive officer of the American Medical Association, or Howard Nathan ’75, the leader of the largest organ donation center in the U.S.—feel that one of the secrets to their success is the empathy and thoughtfulness they learned at Juniata.

Juniata has a longstanding history of preparing students for a career in the medical profession. Our alumni garner acceptances throughout the country and at many excellent institutions. In the last few years Juniata alumni have attended:

  • Harvard
  • Johns Hopkins
